Established in November of 1990, Phoenixx L.P. is engaged in marketing and supplying non-ferrous metals (LME based), minor metals, and chemical grade commodities to the United States Metal Consuming Industry. In this capacity, Phoenixx serves as exclusive representatives for major metal producers and in addition maintains principal inventory.
Throughout the past 24 years, Phoenixx has elevated itself to be recognized as a highly reliable metal supplier throughout the United States, and one of international integrity. Phoenixx strives to maintain the demanding needs of its customers by offering quality products, timely delivery and competitive pricing. The copper, nickel, tin and zinc metals are priced and hedged using the London Metal Exchange (LME), which allows our customer to fix price forward basis current market prices. The benefit of our method of pricing places us in the position to offer “objective” opinions on market direction to our customers.
Brian joined Phoenixx in 1997 after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Economics and History. He began his trading career in the traffic dept. Thru his initiative, he developed and resurrected the tin portfolio at Phoenixx. He then spent considerable time in London learning both LME and International trading. He created a substantial US customer base in all metals, along with developing a scrap joint venture for super-alloys, and other independent certified alloys. He is now responsible for all of the LME hedging, as well as trading all of the metal in the Phoenixx portfolio.
Brian was named President of Phoenixx in 2009 and is currently the President of the American Tin Trade Association.
Paul founded Phoenixx in 1990. and developed the trading company to one of the most respected and seasoned trading groups in the International metals industry. Prior to establishing Phoenixx, Paul worked for 16 years at Philipp Brothers trading in all non-ferrous metals; ferro alloys; coal and blast furnace coke. He joined Philipp Brothers after spending 8 years at Pittsburgh National Bank (PNC), as a VP/Regional manager. He has been a member of various metal associations (American Tin Trade); and (Minor metals trade association); along with being appointed as an advisor to the United States Strategic logistics Agency in the mid-1990s. Currently, on the Board of Trustees at Bishop McCort High School (Johnstown, Pa.). He is a 1966 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with an Economics and Political Science degree; 2 year Varsity letterman; and 1973 graduate of the Rutgers "graduate" school of banking. In Paul's current role, he continues to actively trade in all of the Phoenixx portfolio of metals. However, his main role is to continue to guide and broaden the scope of Phoenixx business future, by developing new supply sources, and customer outlets into the future.
Meg joined Phoenixx in 2006 as Special Projects Manager. She graduated from Bucknell in 1998 with a degree in business administration. She worked at Anderson Consulting (now Accenture) before returning to Pittsburgh to work at PNC. She spent 7 years at PNC in various roles including Internet Banking Product Management and Treasury Management Sales. She is currently responsible for special projects, events, administration, and human resources.
Sherri joined Phoenixx in February 2012 as the Logistics Support Coordinator. She brought 13 years of banking experience with her working in the Controller’s department of Equimark/Integra Financial Corporation. Sherri held various accounting and financial positions, including Accounting Specialist, Corporate Asset/Liability Analyst and Financial Analyst. In addition, she gained human resources experience with Transtar/US Steel Corporation. She received her BSBA in Finance from Robert Morris University in 1992. Sherri is directly involved in managing logistics, warehousing, transportation and customer service for all tin and nickel purchases and sales.
